Viktor finishes runner up

15/01/2011

After an intense and beautiful final lasted almost 2 hours, Viktor lost to Gilles simon in the Medibank International Final. Viktor played with a very aggressive strategy, following his shots to the net as much as he could. After a very close first set lost 7-5 Viktor marched to a 3-0 lead on serve, but committed a few unforced errors to help simon back into the set. His frustration rose while the match went back on serve and Viktor could not hold serve on 6-5.
during the tieb - breaker, lost 7-4 Viktor was called a foot-fault on second serve. Thursday's match against Gasquet had been his 100th win on ATP Tour level.

Pardon Messieurs!

06/12/2010

Viktor has ended the 2010 season with his biggest win of his entire career: The Davis Cup. The whole country of Serbia was behind the TV screens (the Serbian Federation had received requests for 800.000 tickets!) when Viktor letteraly crashed Micahel Llodra playing one of the best matches of his life. 62 62 64 and Serbia made history.
Little time to party for Viktor though: From Dec. 10th he will be preparing with hs trainer Milos Jelisavcic in the Serbian Mountains, before leaving for Dubai, where he will rejoin Novak Djokovic for a week of practice. His 2010 season will start in Doha.

Czar Troicki!

24/10/2010

Viktor Troicki has won his maiden Title in Moscow. At the end of an impressive week, viktor upset former top 10 Marcos Baghdatis 3/6 6/4 6/3.
After a slow start, in which Viktor felt a little bit the stress of the big occasions, his service percentages began to rise and Viktor became more and more offensive.
The first set went to Baghdatis 6-3. In the second set both players held serve without any trouble until the 5-4, when Viktor took advantage of some second serves of Baghdatis to go for shots and even the sets. In the third Viktor served at his best and worked his way to the net more often, to finally serve out on 5-3.
The title in Moscow means 10 spots on the rankings to no. 33. viktor will next compete in St. Petersburg and Basel.
Igor Kunitsyn and Dimitry Tursunov won the doubles title, beating Viktor and Jarko Tipsarevic in the finals.
